Applications are invited for a fully funded PhD studentship on nation and migration, funded by the Loughborough University Graduate School, in conjunction with the University’s Communication, Culture and Citizenship Research Challenge.
We are interested in proposals for research projects analysing the impact of international migration on the reproduction of the nation. The project can be based in any social science discipline and can focus on one or more social settings (for instance, education, sports, family life, the media etc.). Applications from students interested in examining the relationship between nation, migration and the media are very welcome.
The studentship is for three years and provides a stipend of £14,296 per annum plus tuition fees at the UK/EU rate for up to three years. International (non-EU students) may apply however the total value of the studentship will be used towards the cost of the International tuition fee. The University guarantees the scholarship for the full three years regardless of when the UK leaves the EU.
The deadline for applications is 7 September 2016, and the project should start no later than January 2017.
